Coconut Oil for Cooking

The closest most people get to tasting the beauty of coconuts is when they buy a Bounty chocolate bar!

But you’re missing out on so much by not cooking with coconut oil. Not only is it beautiful to taste, but it’s a far healthier alternative to butter or some other types of oil.

So that’s great food, a healthier body, and then you can even use it on your hair and skin for that tropical glow! What’s not to love?

The coconut has been a staple food for the good folk of the Pacific for many generations.

The oil extract is pressed from coconut palm tree fruit and is ideal for lighter foods and mild flavoured dishes.

The sweeter dishes are an obvious combination, it can be a beautiful addition to cakes, desserts and smoothies.

But you can also add it to savoury foods, like vegetables and meats, chicken being a particular favourite.

Organic is our tip as the best with a soft aroma of coconut. If you don’t like the smell or taste however then refined coconut oil will give you all the health benefits without the aroma.

And lastly here’s a day in the life of a coconut oil fanatic – great food ideas for cooking with coconut oil. Remember though it’s just a sample.
